Happy Valentines Day
Happy Valentine Day to all my friends and fellow bloggers. Since everyone is showing all their cute Valentine quilts and decorations I will post my one and only valentine quilt. Don't know why I never made more quilts to celebrate this holiday, since red my favorite color, it is a mystery.
The date on the back is 1999 and I used Thimbleberries fabric and pattern. Notice how dark and dull the fabrics were then, not today's pretty vibrant reds.
Happy Valentines Day to all and may your heart be full.
Enjoy all the pieces of your life,

Be careful what you ask for
Well, there won't be any pictures of me posted for another five or six weeks. Two weeks ago I went in for my usual haircut and color appointment with the same stylist I have had for four years. Now my hair is relatively short, but I took a picture of a really short hair cut,-------- it looked great on the model. My stylist said, "you know it will be a lot shorter." I laughingly said "I know----it will grow."
Let me tell you, I think I will be in hiding for a while and no pictures. I could wear a hat, but I think it would fall down around my ears. Do you think the hippie bandanna look is still acceptable?

Texas colder than Anchorage, Alaska, are you kidding me?
Last night on the evening news, Diane Sawyer said that parts of Texas had temperatures colder than Anchorage, Alaska and my daughter had called earlier in the day to tell me that Minot, North Dakota had warmer temps than Texas. We spent three years in Minot, North Dakota and remember those bitter cold winters.
We here in Texas just don't know how to deal with snow, schools have been closed for four days, businesses, churches, medical clinics, many closed. Rolling blackouts on Wednesday left many without power for hours. We had to import snowplows from our neighbors to the north to try and clear some of the highways. DFW and Love Field canceled many flights on Wednesday and today, so visitors for the Super Bowl are having difficulty getting to Texas.
I worry about those who are homeless and pray that they have found shelter, those who have inadequate heat in their homes, those mothers trying to keep their children warm and safe, and those whose life has been forever changed because of this storm.
The Super Bowl will go on as scheduled and the die hard fans will party in spite of the circumstances, and maybe the days activities will let many forget for a few hours the hardships that they have experienced this week. But I ask you, as you watch the game, please say a prayer for those all over the country who have suffered because of this storm. Please watch over your families, stay safe, and stay warm.

I HAVE MOVED------Changed the name of my blog
Ten days ago when I started this adventure into blogland I had purchased a couple of books and just jumped right in setting up my blog and posting. I learned a lot in those ten days and made a couple of big mistakes. First big mistake was that my google email address gave my complete name, not a good idea, and an easy way to have your identify stolen. Second mistake, I had registered with another domain. That could have been easily changed, but I would still have the same email address. I thought it would be best to start over with new name and new email--------so this is me now
Bobbins, Thimbles and Thread

The two books that I had purchased gave a good overview of starting a blog, one was written more for WordPress and the other a beautiful book about bloging in general. I found a lot of useful information in both, but not enough detail that pertained to Google. I was such a newbie, I needed every detail spelled out. So Wednesday, I went to Barnes and Noble and purchased "Beginning Google Blogger." This has been a great help and I am on my way once again.
Those who read my posts and left such nice comments, I hope that you will come back again.
