The Lost Blog is Found

Over two years ago when I first started my blogging experience and with very little knowledge of what I was doing, I had a series of blunders and mistakes by both me and Google.  Concequently my blog Bobbins Thimbles and Thread was discontinued.  No matter how tried to reach Google or find an answer on their Help Section my blog was lost.

I had paid for the domain name that year and have continued to pay the annual fee, guess I just liked the name and hoped someday that Google would figure out what was wrong and reinstate.  I must admit that I haven't checked to see if the blog was live in a long time but today there it was.

Happy Valentines Day

Happy Valentine Day to all my friends and fellow bloggers.  Since everyone is showing all their cute Valentine quilts and decorations I will post my one and only valentine quilt.  Don't know why I never made more quilts to celebrate this holiday, since red my favorite color, it is a mystery.

The date on the back is 1999 and I used Thimbleberries fabric and pattern.  Notice how dark and dull the fabrics were then, not today's pretty vibrant reds.

Happy Valentines Day to all and may your heart be full.

Little Cowboy Quilt

This little quilt was made using fat quarters and some yardage I had left over from other quilts.  I like to buy fat quarters of western fabrics when I see them that would be suitable for a small child.  Sometimes it is hard to  pick out little boy fabrics and all little boys like cowboys.

A simple quilt, just cut as many 3 1/2" x 6 1/2" rectangles as needed.  Because my quilts go to the wee ones in the hospital, it is only 36" x 42"; a larger  45" x 54" would require 9 fat quarters.  The pattern is from the booklet The Giving Quilt.

Didn't have backing so will have to finish next week.  I guess that means another trip to the quilt shop, hope I don't get in trouble there with all the new spring fabrics.

Quilt Story Block Party---Ferris Wheel

Today I am sending  my submission to the Quilt Story Block Party, this is the last day to enter, nothing like letting thing go to the last minute.  The pattern I used is called Ferris Wheel from the book Endless  Possibilities.  Of course I had to make this one----the Ferris Wheel is my favorite ride at the fair.  I used batiks that were in my leftover stash from a project  I had  made a couple of years ago.

Judging will be by celebrity judges so no on line voting, and the prizes are outstanding.  Hop on over to the
Quiltstory blog and enter, you have until 11.59pm tonight.

Enjoy all the pieces of your life,
